Just like any other Municipality we are showing signs of growth, and as a
part of this growth our system must expand. Here are some of the current projects
we are working on.
Loquat Bridge Project (Natural Gas Department)
Lift station no. 85
(located behind the South Town
Shopping Plaza)
The remediation of some of our
lift stations to accommodate new growth within their drainage basin is show below.
Originally
this station was constructed to accommodate the Shopping Plaza, as other
customers were added the capacity of the station became impacted and the need
to upgrade the facilities became necessary.
City Maintenance Technicians begin removing the old building that housed an
above ground style pump station. The existing above ground pumps is being
replaced with new submersible pumps, and as part of the upgrade an additional 5
foot of wet well will be added.

Another Pump station
that is in the latter stages of an upgrade is the one that delivers our
effluent form the wastewater facilities to the irrigation site on Sisters
welcome Road.
This station was designed to
deliver up to 6,200 gallons per minute through a 24" force main to the
city's 45 million-gallon storage reservoir for irrigation of the city's hay
fields.
As part of this upgrade new variable
frequency controls are being installed to better enhance the flow matching
capabilities of the station along with an additional 1,000-gallon per minute
pumping capacity. |
