Current Projects

Just like any other Municipality we are showing signs of growth, and as a part of this growth our system must expand. Here are some of the current projects we are working on.

Loquat Bridge Project
(Natural Gas Department)

Lift station no. 85
(located behind the South Town Shopping Plaza)

The remediation of some of our lift stations to accommodate new growth within their drainage basin is show below.

Originally this station was constructed to accommodate the Shopping Plaza, as other customers were added the capacity of the station became impacted and the need to upgrade the facilities became necessary.

City Maintenance Technicians begin removing the old building that housed an above ground style pump station. The existing above ground pumps is being replaced with new submersible pumps, and as part of the upgrade an additional 5 foot of wet well will be added.

Another Pump station that is in the latter stages of an upgrade is the one that delivers our effluent form the wastewater facilities to the irrigation site on Sisters welcome Road.

This station was designed to deliver up to 6,200 gallons per minute through a 24" force main to the city's 45 million-gallon storage reservoir for irrigation of the city's hay fields.

As part of this upgrade new variable frequency controls are being installed to better enhance the flow matching capabilities of the station along with an additional 1,000-gallon per minute pumping capacity.

Here Florida Power and Light and Maintenance personnel are performing a thermal imaging scan on a motor control center.

Maintenance Technicians are working in south aeration basin removing debris from the drainage sump.

A confined space entry and hot work permit were required in order to remove a large section of a concrete wall in lift station no. 45, to make way for remediation

Growth outside of our service area requiring utilities presented us with a challenge! And we met the challenge head on by adding to our existing utility Master Plan. A local property owner approached us with a plan to develop an industrial park, and the first business in the park would be run by 600 employees.

Service Zone Wastewater Plant

City Utility Maintenance personnel constructed a 50,000 gallon per day package plant that would not only handle this facility but any other that may decide to open up shop on this site.

We have many other projects in the works, check back with us for updates.
