CHS

Gas is one of the nation’s most common energy sources. It is convenient, dependable and cost-effective.

Because natural gas burns with smaller amounts of emissions than any other fossil fuel, it is often referred to as the cleanest and most proficient energy source. Natural gas is completely non-toxic. It is a natural compound containing primarily hydrogen and carbon. When it burns, its main by-products are water vapor and carbon dioxide.

Today, our natural gas customers use natural gas in their homes to operate stoves, furnaces, water heaters, as well as clothes dryers, fireplace acce3ssories, pool and spa heaters, gas lights, and grills. Residential air conditioning has also become another practical and cost efficient use for natural gas. Commercial customers use natural gas for boilers and air conditioning.

Also, we are continuing to do our regular work such as Cathodic Protection on our gas system.

Line locating for our underground gas lines: as the city grows, we will be here to help make it safe. Many new subdivisions are planned for the future as you can see all around you.
